On May 22nd, 2013 we had the extreme priviledge of providing 91 children with a day of fun and quality dental services! From about 9 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon, Health Care Center for the Homeless(HCCH) staff members, volunteers and a slew of pediatric dentist volunteers from around the country teamed up with the support of Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children: The Foundation of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry(AAPD) to offer these kids in need a true dental home.
Each of the children served this day were children who had never had a dental check-up, who were not covered by healthcare insurance and who had never used any of the services at HCCH. We’re proud to say that the work done for these children does not stop here! Thanks to AAPD’s generous grant, we will be providing free follow-up care–including check-ups, cleanings and dental restoration work– for each of the 91 children for the upcoming year!
